Hold-It! is a moldable third arm soldering positioning clay, that stays in its molded form and provides some heat protection from delicate soldered areas, this clay is not a heat shield to protect stones. This clay will burn slightly from direct flames but will not disintegrate. The Hold-It! clay is reusable for up to 2 or 3 times when reconstituted in warm water.
This clay cannot be used with Platinum or Platinum Group Metals (Platinum, Palladium, karat golds with Palladium or Platinum, Rhodium or Iridium), these metals don't like carbon and this clay produces carbon.

Details
After finishing soldering and the clay has cooled, the clay breaks off the piece the tiny bits left on the work can be washed off with soap and water using a toothbrush. The still soft bits can be reused and placed back in the jar, the dried out pieces can be saved to be reconstituted later.
Hold-It does not contain abestos or other harmful additives, it contains aluminum oxide, silica and water.
