This compressed charcoal block is perfect for soldering due to its heat reflective properties, this allows the piece to get up to temperature quicker and creates a cleaner soldering environment. When soldering this solid carbon block creates a reducing atmosphere by absorbing the oxygen surrounding the piece, preventing oxidation and fire-stain. Simple shapes can be carved out of this block and metal melted into these forms for small scale melts. This block measures 140mm (5.5") x 70mm (2.8") x 29mm (1.1").
